Quite the contrast of weather..... looks like we have a few feet of snow.... Thank you Spencer for keeping the drive clear!!!

Cold Chicago
23 degrees was a great departure from the 80s we've enjoyed. Three hours in O'Hara before flight to Cleveland.
High above Pacific
I couldn't resist buying internet access for only $12.99 for 8 hours. So hello from all of us at 37,000 feet!!!

35th Floor
Great view from our room at the Hilton Waikiki Beach. We could see Diamond Head and the ocean.... maybe even Tahiti.
Diamond Head
Who could pass up the chance to hike up Diamond Head; the iconic land mass of Hawaii. The views from the top were impressive.
Pearl Harbor
We went right from the airport to visit Pearl Harbor. We toured the sub Bowfin, took a boat to the Arizona Memorial, and toured the battleship Missouri. We were lucky to get out to the Arizona, since on most days tickets are gone by 8 AM.

Off to Oahu
Goodbye Kauai.... we are off to Oahu for a day and a half. Weather has been fantastic last 2 days and looks good today.

Hotel Day
Today we just enjoyed the Grand Hyatt hotel and adjacent grounds, which is very nice. A few walks along the beach kept us limber.
Last Lookout
I think everyone was tired from a day of photo shoots..... or they were tired of me, because everyone else stayed in the car as I scaled plateaus....
Waimea Canyon
The weather actually cooperated so we headed to a canyon as spectacular as the Grand. We visited about 10 lookouts, some over 4000 feet above sea level. Very very scenic.... can hardly wait to sort out all the panoramas shot.
Wailua Falls
It rained pretty hard last night and this morning. We thought the day may be a wash out. However, the rain did feed the falls. Kauai has the highest annual rainfall in the word.

Luau (Best Ever)
Well maybe not. Cindy arranged the best outdoor luau on the island. However, high winds and seas forced it off the beach for only the second time this winter.... and we were inside like a cheap Italian wedding..... which probably would of been a better venue...

First Sun Today
Weather is deteriating with an approaching front. Only saw the sun for a brief time this afternoon. The ocean will get more angry with 50 knot winds expected over next few days.
Spouting Horn
A hole in the rocks combined with high seas creates a geyser. No whale watching today.... seas too large.
Beach House Sunset
Cindy booked us at a very nice restaurant for sunset dining. The sunset was bright and the meal was great. We needed to replenish the energy lost hiking.
Kalalau Trail
Today we got up early and drove two hours to the north side of the island to hike the famous Halalau trail. We only hiked four miles... but with elavation changes, mud, and rocks... it took us four hours. Very scenic!

Sweet Hawaii
We spent a week in Singapore and never had a desert.... they don't seem to do sweets. It didn't take Tom and Cindy long to overcompensate as they consumed this HUGE Hula cake at dinner. At least they split it.
